@ExtremistPullup yer im 6″ 1.5 and not that strong but im not an ectomorph. i.e i only bench 65kg at 17 years old and about 190Ibs, 27%bf but i have more muscle than ppl who are stronger than me. meh

maybe the both started out in Power lifting where short people have an advantage.
most 6 ft 1 people are Ectomorph’s anyway.

@ExtremistPullup no i get that the average height is below 6ft but in my gym ive never seen anyone above my height. and i mean jay cutler is 5ft 9 and coleman is 5ft 10 i think. just wondered why they’re so short

    @DoNotClickUFreak
5’11 is only and inch below 6ft.

You don’t get why 90% of weight lifters are below 6ft?
Maybe its because the average adult male in the united states is 5 feet 9.2 inches.

@ExtremistPullup lol i dont get why 90% of weightlifters are below 6ft. short man syndrome i think

Dude i can do 100lbs for 3 sets of 3. At a bodyweight of 168. Im going to try to get it to 3 sets of 10 throughout football. Its gonna be hard but its also fun to do.

those were some pretty solid pull-ups.. haha i thought i was doing well because i was able to do 3 sets of 3 (BW + 10, BW + 15, BW + 20 — i weigh about 170). but now i see what i should be striving for

@ExtremistPullup how big are your lats man? from this video they seem pritty big.

@enantiomer2000 You’re welcome. I actually started doing weighted pullups when I could do 15 reps. I converted to a 5×5 Max Weighted Pullup. When I stopped the strength block @ 50lbs 5×5, I was able to ease into 25 easily. It also helps that I wrestle, so I build strength via sport as well, but still. I also used a Gymnastic Interval that made crazy gains for about 1 month.

@wrassling Thanks for the input. I can get up to 16-18 with OK form but will probably keep it up before adding weight. I am still getting sore with the sets I am doing so I must be doing something right I suppose.

  12. Arturo says:

@enantiomer2000 Do normal pullups until you are able to do 16+ with GOOD form. Then from there slowly start adding weight.

  13. Erna says:

    Ben

@ExtremistPullup Impressive! I can only get 5 rep with 70 pounds plus.

Would you say that adding weight to your pull ups is better than just doing more reps with no weight? Should you shoot for the 8-10 reps range for strength training? Thanks.

hey man I have some questions about the Marine Corps would you mind a private message?

  21. Winston says:

    Jorge

Amazing mate, I can do about 20 weightless right, I put 6kg in a rucksack and it felt like nothing, think im gonna start my weight ones at 15kg (35lbs?)
I do 10 consecutive sets 60seconds rest and then throughout the day if i feel like it, once u can do 5 with solid form youve got no excuse for getting good at them, and building solid arms and back.

  22. Luann says:

    Latisha
