Who ever sold humans on never pushing to failure? Years ago when I was lifting heavy weights and doing low reps we always pushed as hard as possible squeezing out each last rep, so what has changed? It’s closely like pushing to failure is too much work and we don’t want to push and work to hard we might make gains, is it that you may make outstanding gains in a short time and then level off?

Pushing to failure is what each outstanding athlete does to get great on a regular basis the person that leaves a workout without knowing they worked hard will never make the gains they say they want.

Look at pro football, the team that leaves it on the field commonly wins and the team that loses is normally gives up. Another myth that makes no sense is in weight training most will ordinarily start out with real light weight and move up progressing sets a little at a time, by the time you get to the heavy sets your muscles are already worked and you don’t have as much left to out in the huge effort.

When we swapped to a decent warm up and put the max we could do for 5 reps and kept the same weight for all sets we were pushing the max weight and when all 5 sets were finished you added weight and held progressing. So what happens when you push to failure? You push the muscles hard and they get stronger, meaning you will get stronger.

Why would you want to leave anything on the table? I’m not saying to kill yourself each day but come on you need to do a little more to get any results. Have you ever known any individual good at anything that did not work exceedingly hard at what they are good at?

Greasing the groove made frequent by a sure Russian seems to be the formula every one wants to use, this has been applied for many, a lot of years and never seemed to work as well as it’s supposed to; but here is the greatest problem, it’s the thoughts you have with regards to a sure workout formula. It’s all in the mind.

I will tell you that if you are not training to failure and you are leaving the rest on the table when you need it you won’t have the extra to finish the job.

Champion weight lifters all over the world train for winning they train numerous times a day in short training periods and they train to win, they are not giving a less than best effort, they are training to win.

You get more inviolable by placing more stress on the muscle not less stress, where does cheating yourself with a poor effort make any sense at all.

Pushing your pushups to failure and squeezing out a few more each time will heighten your pushups, you may have an off day just keep going, your body may handle the stress our bodies are made to push hard and the body will adapt; the problem is going versus usual culture that’s why most men tend to be fat and weak.

I have talked regarding this before, if a laborer works every day with his body by rights he ought to be working on a split schedule working one day and taking a day off, if he does he’ll starve; the amusive thing is he may do the same thing the next day and the day after and may proceed for weeks and months and years but persons that workout for a few minutes a day worry with regards to over training and getting hurt.

Why would any individual listen to an individual that is no better off than they are? Wouldn’t it make more sense to find the persons that get the results you want and study these men and women?

If you may only do 40 pushups at one time does it make any sense to listen to counsel from somebody who can’t break 40? Until you are more than willing to make your body do what your mind tells it you will stay in the same situation.

As far as shoulder pain, undertake and push with a more inviolable share of the body – the triceps’. Using 2/3 of your upper arm makes more sense than using the littler anterior head of the shoulder, and this the reason men have shoulder injuries.

Pushing to failure is an old school way that has worked for galore years and people that use it almost always get outstanding results, just because you are sore doesn’t mean you need a day off, it’s your decision as to what you want to accomplish.

2hours is a long time. your likely to just wear yourself out. do a comfotable amout same time every day, each day add one more on to what you previously did. that way you will notice a huge improvement

it’s better than nothing…throw in some situps and some squats too and you almost have a full body work out. push ups work mainly the chest, and a lot of other stabilizing muscles through out the whole body

From what Ive experienced, no, you must gradually work your way up to doing more pushups in a smaller amount of time. Ive worked my way up to 50 push ups, 100 sit ups, and 100 curls with a dumbell. I do that 2-3 times without a break, because when your muscles are already tense, they need to work a lot harder, thus you get a way better work out. that usually takes 20 minutes without distractions. Keep your heart pumping in between atleast by doing sit ups or jumping jacks.

Also, try getting dumbells if you want to inscrease your arm strength. Pushups are for your outer chest mainly.

Try doing them for time, like for a minute strait then rest for a couple, that should be good. Push Ups build your chest and triceps. Do them with your hands close together to focus on your tri’s and inner chest. Do sit ups/crunchs for your abs and chair dips are easy to do and biuld your triceps too.
