Yes at first. You need to increase laps and the amount of pushups and situps/crunches after they get easy for you.
Taylor
it depends on your diet as well…..I didn’t say “go on a diet”…I’m simply talking about what you eat…if you are working off more calories than you eat….then you’ll lose weight.
On the plus side…exercise is always good…at least you are getting some and not just sitting around all day every day.
Constance
>It depends entirely on how much (and what) you eat between exercise sessions.
Patrick
The answer depends on how far out of shape you are.
2 laps around the football field is a half mile. The other day I got bored after classes ended and just ran a full mile and I’m very far out of shape.
The pushups and crunches are so so, you’ll build something, but not much, and not quickly.
But if you’re just starting, or have a long way to go or something that is holding you back healthwise, it’s not a bad start.
Ursula
u shound increase situps /crunches to 100-150 it will be more profitable for u and try to have proper diet at proper intervals

Yes, you also have to watch what you eat. You will begin to lose weight slowly until you reach a plateau but persevere until you will peak again in losing your unwanted weight.

If it doesn’t help lose weight, it will at least keep you in shape and prevent you from gaining weight and fat. You can start off what you’re doing and try some bicycles. They will do your abs VERY good.

The crunches and pushups will help you build muscle, however if you continue doing those set amounts each day you will hit a plateau, so you must increase your repetitions…ie, do twenty pushups each day for a week, then the next week bump up to twenty-five or thirty.
It’s the same with running laps. Though at first two laps a day may suffice and result in you feeling healthier, two laps a day continually, forever, will not do you too much good. You will begin to build endurance and then add more; try for three and four and then the weight will melt off.
Good luck!!

thats a good start but you also gotta do some weight training..a lota girls dont wanna lift weights cuz they think it’ll make them big like a guy but its just not true… weight training is a very important part of losing weight..do a total body work out 3 times a week, 2 sets x 12 reps for each exercise, and continue to do your cardio…2 laps everyday is great.. also remember that you have to push yourself in order to see results (but that doesnt mean working so hard that you cant move the next day..doing that is counterproductive) i just mean as time passes you should see some improvements..ie lifting heavier weights/or doing more reps, and being able to run more laps.
also, your diet plays a big role…i personally dont believe in counting calories..i think its too excessive for the average person.. just use common sense when it comes to eating… control your portions for breakfast/lunch/dinner, and have some healthy snacks in between. its not realistic to say you’re gonna stop eating chips/ice cream etc… you can still eat those foods, just dont go crazy with them
oh one more thing..make sure you do some back exercises as well… people make the mistake of only working out the muscles they can see..(ie the front side of their body) but the back is just as important… and an imbalance of strength in your body can lead to nagging injuries.. if you dont know a lot about exercising you should go to a gym… you dont even have to get a trainer..just talk to the people there and get some advice
good luck! and keep at it!

This depends on how many calories youe consume on a certain day. Somedays you will lose weight doing this because you consumed fewer calories, other days you could gain weight just doing this because you consumed more calories. If you are excercising for 45 minutes to an hour a day, 4 or 5 days a week and trying to limit your calories to around 1500 you should lose weight. You should never go below 1200 or your metabolism will start to slow down and you will stop losing weight. Try eating 5 or 6 smaller meals spaced evenly throughout the day to keep your metabolism up. Also while trying to build muscle try to increase your protein slightly. Never go overboard or try crazy fads. It is better to be healthy that just thinner or bulked up.
