 EXCELLENT pants.

I wear these in hot weather as opposed to my Dainese race leathers on the street.This summer I have worn them every single day I ride, with the Dainese Wave Pro 2011 body armor instead of a jacket, Vertigo air boots, etc. These are about as cooll, temp wise, as you are going to get. One of the few pants without a ridiculous heavy liner (that doesn’t come out) like other pants, making other pants weigh a lot more than these, as well as blocking air flow.
These are as light a pants as you can buy without going to cheap MX pants, which are not designed for street use.
I wear the Dainese Mt. bike knee/shin guards, and Dainese Hard shorts with these pants for the armor part of the ensemble.

 Better wear additional padding underneath

Overall I was some what disappointed with the quality being they are Alpinestars. I own their jackets, boots, gloves and knee protectors and this is a bit of a let down. The knee pads are flimsy and move around. No other padding what so ever. The leg zipper does unzip pretty high allowing you to slip the pants over boots. I would recommend only using these to throw over jeans if you’re going to do a quick run somewhere. I do wear them on warm days when doing my long rides throught the canyons and twisties. I supplement the pants by wearing padded crash shorts (extreme sports crash shorts) underneath along with the Alpinestars Bionic knee protectors. With these pants, you pay for what you get…..and a little less.
